ABATE of Washington

The Patch say’s it all, ABATE of Washington Spring Opener 2011 went Back to the woods!
It was the First Spring Opener at the Sliver Ridge
Ranch in EASTON, WA.
This was a pleasant change from the flat dry open fields of Toppenish &
Goldendale, WA.
Virginia & I arrived on Thursday June 16th. At
around 4pm, we could not believe the size and
beauty of our campsite. Level ground almost no rocks, trees for shade and
our own campfire!
We even had our own picnic table next to the campfire! As we looked straight out
of our tent we
could see the Band Stage for the entertainment in the huge valley in front
of us.
This was the first Spring Opener in many years that
I was not working at the Event as a State
Officer of ABATE of Washington; It was now my time to party! As we walked
around the Silver
ridge Ranch we could see all the Tents and RV’s setting up camp in the
wooded areas. I thought I
was in a State Park everything looked great. You could drive your tent
stakes with your hand.
They had one Central Bathhouse close to the main entrance both the ladies and
the Guy’s
bathrooms had showers. The cold water was free, but you had to pay 25
cents for some hot water
if you wanted it for your shower. The Vendors were back to our right about
200 yards, and yes
they were in the woods to. ABATE did a real good job on the setups for
locating all the Vendors
down Vendor Row. They had vendors for Food, Tattoos, Leather, Tee Shirts,
Patches, Jewelry,
and a lot more. I found a nice Leather Halter Top for my lady & New Chain
Wallet for me and Our
Back to the Woods Patch. We had a few burgers & Fries and enjoyed all the
Vendors.
Friday the Rock Band “Moose Knuckle” was rocking the
Ranch with High Energy Rock N Rock!
Everyone we talked with said they loved the new location for Spring Opener and
they were having
a great time this year. Virginia & I rocked the Night away with a Bottle
of Fireball in my Vest!
Saturday morning it was time for the Bike Games, The
weather was beautiful about 72 or 75 just
perfect not hot and not cold. This year I decided to try my New Harley
with my New Lady in a few
Bike games. This was Virginia’s first Spring Opener! We tried the Clothes
Line Race & the Weenie
Bite Contest. No we did not win anything but it was a lot of fun!
Then after time bike Games we decided to ride in to Cle Elum & Roslyn to see the sites.
Saturday Night the well know Classic Rock Band
“CYLAS” keep everybody dancing!
The dance area was packed with people enjoying the entertainment.
About 11:30pm the Band took a break, for the Spring
Opener wet Tee Shirt Contest!
The Girls all lined up to get watered down as the crowd grew with anticipation.
They let each Girl do a little dance on stage as the crowd voted on the winners.
